FAQS
Do I need sewing experience?
No experience necessary, but enthusiasm to learn is a must! If you have zero experience and zero idea what to bring other than your holey garment, please reach out and we can point you in the right direction.
What is included in the ticket?
We keep the circles small to make sure it stays one group working together and sharing skills and stories without feeling overwhelmed. Depending on the circle you will have access to coffee, tea, wine, nibbles and (most importantly!) cake. You'll also be able to pilfer supporting supplies from the communal mending kit for the projects you bring too. We will supply an iron and ironing board.
What should I bring to my first circle?
Bring things to mend, your half finished knits and your forever projects!
Needles, thread, small scissors.
If you want to mend jeans, please bring some extra denim to patch, and some light blue cotton (unless you want to visibly mend, then whatever colour you wish!)
If you want to learn to darn, bring jar lids, rubber bands, wool needles, and wool to match.
What if there's not a mending circle in my area?
We're growing quickly and looking for individuals and venues to host their local mending circle (with our support of course!). Reach out if this sounds like you!
